Dear [Elected Official’s Name],
Over 400,000 Palestinians have been ordered to evacuate Northern Gaza with no safe destination. Israel’s relentless bombardment has turned homes, schools, and hospitals into ruins, erasing entire neighbourhoods. Even critical hospitals—Kamal Adwan, Indonesian, and Al-Awda—are under threat of imminent bombing. Medical staff face the impossible choice of staying with their patients and risking death or evacuating them without any safe alternatives.
Gaza’s healthcare system is nearing total collapse. More than 1,100 healthcare workers have been killed, and the remaining hospitals are running out of fuel and essential supplies. Hospitals are not safe, and humanitarian corridors do not exist.
Israel has been documented using drones, snipers, and grenades to attack civilians attempting to flee. Video evidence reveals the repeated deliberate targeting of civilians, violating international law and human rights. The genocidal intent behind these actions is unmistakable, as every aspect of life in Gaza is being systematically erased.
We are not witnessing the full extent of the destruction as Israel has killed 175 journalists, many of whom were reporting from Northern Gaza.
Experts suggest that Israel is now enacting the first phase of the “General’s Plan”—a strategy to ethnically cleanse large regions of Gaza. This plan includes declaring the area a “closed military zone” and treating any civilians who remain as enemy combatants, subjecting them to execution by Israeli forces.
Israel must be sanctioned. A full arms embargo and a two-way trade embargo must be enforced until Israel ceases its illegal occupation, blockade and human rights violations in the region; this will also add pressure for a ceasefire. Recognising the State of Palestine and supporting the prosecution of war crimes is essential.
I look forward to your commitment to upholding international law through these actions.
